Our friends at WIPO have just tweeted an emergency plea for registered design applicants to share their views on changes to registration procedures.  We are naturally pleased to alert our readers whom, we are sure, have plenty of thoughts to share with the only UN agency that takes responsibility for design protection.  The WIPO tweet leads to this message on the organization's website:

Surveys on Industrial Design Registration Procedures re-opened

The Standing Committee on the Law of Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications (SCT) requested the Secretariat to extend for an additional period of two months the two surveys that were conducted in April and May 2012, as part of the Study on the Potential Impact of the Work of the SCT on Industrial Design Law and Practice (document SCT/27/4).  Accordingly, the two surveys, namely one for Offices and another for Users, have been reopened for completion until March 7, 2013.

The WIPO User’s survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete the questionnaire. If you have any questions, please write to sct.forum@wipo.int.

Note: When completing the survey in one go, please only use the “next” button and disregard the “save and close” button. At the end of the survey please click on the “submit” button.
