Designschutz in Europa strikes again!

Design Protection in Europe: Decisions of European and National Courts Volume 4, edited by Henning Hartwig and brought out by Carl Heymanns Verlag, has now been published.  A member of the Class 99 blog team, Henning is better known as a leading practitioner and deep thinker on European design rights whose contribution to the debate over reciprocity in design law has been warmly received and widely appreciated [advance notice: a further article on this subject will be published later this year in the Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice, JIPLP].

When composing this note, I found that neither the English nor the German version of the Wolters Kluwer web page could be accessed, but the following information concerning this volume has been taken from the website of Wildy & Sons Ltd:
"New products are ever more often fascinating consumers with their design. Product design is thus playing an increasing role in the strategic branding and image building of companies. This poses the question of effective legal protection of new designs as valuable business assets.

Design Protection in Europe offers a systematic survey, including latest key decisions from Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and OHIM (Volume 4 available now). According to the proven concept, 14 new decisions are reproduced in full text, with annotations by experienced specialists of national and European design law (in German or English).

Volume 4 is supplemented by a headnotes index, including more than 130 additional new decisions from Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom as well as the ECJ and OHIM (mainly unpublished), with essential excerpts printed in German and English.

Design Protection in Europe with a total of 300 decisions (full text or headnotes) is the leading publication in Europe in this field, including a corresponding decision index for research".
